Be Green: Future shop has a good recycling program
In case you care about recycling:
*Future Shop now takes back hundreds of electronic items at our Alberta* and Ontario stores for recycling!
* Whether you purchased your product with us, or elsewhere, dispose of it responsibly at your local Future Shop.
Customers may return, free of charge, two items per day including common electronics: TVs, personal computers and peripherals (mice, keyboards, speakers and cables), desktop printers, and monitors.
Just bring the material INSIDE the store and see an associate for details.
They also take:
* Used batteries (rechargeable and alkaline)
* Cell phones
* CD players
* Media files (CDs and DVDs)
* Portable DVD players
* Ink cartridges

Residents of the GTA can drop off any make or model of computer, notebook, monitor, printer as well as peripheral devices including computer speakers and mice to be recycled free of charge. Sorry for the multiple e-mails, but I forgot to let you know about EARTH HOUR this Saturday, March 28:
Earth Hour is a global movement, to raise the awareness of global warming/climate change.
Participate this Saturday, March 28, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm! (8:30PM local time, wherever you live on planet earth)
Simply switch off your lights (that includes your TV and computer, etc. as well)for that hour.
Over 1,000 cities in more than 80 countries will participate this year, and they hope to reach 1 billion participants this year - the results will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.
See www.earthhour.org for more details - remember to register on that website if you will participate, so you get counted as a participant!
Last year, as landmarks, businesses and households turned off their lights for 1 hour during Earth Hour 2008, the Chicagoland region reported an electricity savings of 7% -- the carbon emissions equivalent of taking 1 million cars off the road for one hour or planting 158 acres of trees!
